Core's Mission:

To create and maintain a dynamic, independent forum, providing a venue for the contemporary arts.
To help address the need for both non-judgmental and competitive exhibitions.
To fulfill the need for personal growth, communication and a sense of community among artists and viewers.
To promote awareness, education and appreciation of and access to, contemporary art in a non-commercial setting.

A brief history of CORE:

The year was 1981, with opportunities thin and most Denver area galleries dominated by traditional western art. As a direct response to the growing need for experimental spaces outside of the commercial gallery system a few scrappy young artist banded together to create CORE: New Art Space. Over the years as the metro area has grown and changed, so has CORE and it’s artists. From it’s start at 2501 15th street, to west 32nd, 31st and Larimer, to 14th and Wazee, a long run in the Arts District on Santa Fe to it’s current home in The Hub at 40 West Arts.
